Drugstore HAUL from Mesmerize SALE

Assalamualaikum and Hi lovelies,

If any of you have come across my recent post, you would definitely think that i'm going cray, cray with drugstore cosmetics from overseas. Well i am, and about a month back i actually found out that Mesmerize was having some of their items on 'SALE' and you ladies would know by now, when it comes to 'SALE' you can start seeing money flying off the purse *i kid you not*. But alhamdulillah this days i try not to buy on impulse, i actually allow myself a few days and do some research before i start purchasing anything.

So as you can see i didn't actually do a big haul, it's just a little one since my budget was pretty tight. And this three items were just to tempting not too try, plus the price was such a steal, i can't resist it. Well i had valid reasons too, for the foundation it was b'coz i was using my BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream for quite a while and i wanted to try something else. And for the bronzer, it was b'coz i wanted to try it out and learn how to contour my face, but i somehow ended up with a bronzer that functions more like a blusher instead of a bronzer. Well i guess that happens sometimes, am i right?

I decided to try out the:-

1. ELF Flawless Finish Foundation in the shade Sand
2. MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Sunrise Glow
3. MUA Eyebrow Brush with Comb

ELF Flawless Finish Foundation packaging is actually made out of glass, so it's quite sturdy and a little heavy for a foundation bottle. You might want to be extra careful whenever you're around this bottle, as it might be fragile and it could break. The foundation also contains SPF 15 and proofs to be Oil Free.

(Please excuse the spelling error ^_^)

It has a pump head, which is quite easy to control the flow and how much you want to dispense. As mentioned on the back of the bottle, it is best to apply it with a foundation brush or sponge

*Apply on face area to even out skin tone for a beautiful semi-matte finish that lasts all day*

~ Well the truth is i tried applying this foundation with my Body Shop Foundation brush, but it somehow leaves some streaks especially under my eye area. Just purchased a new brush, and currently waiting for it to arrive, will try to experiment it again and will definitely do a short review on it. But for the time being i'm just happy applying it with my hands, which i find it so easy.

Results, it does leave a semi-matte finish. I'm glad that it has SPF 15, as i don't apply sunblock *i know i'm guilty of not doing so*. To say that it last the whole day well i'm not too sure, as i normally used makeup only for few hours.. but for the few hours it has proven to be lasting. You'll definitely find the foundation a little tacky when you first apply it on the skin, but somehow the feeling will wear off once it sets.

- This is how it looks like when i mix up all the colors and swatch~

MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Sunrise Glow

Just to let you guys know, when i saw this bronzer i was contemplating whether to get the shade Natural Glow (pix below) or the Sunrise Glow. And alhamdulillah i did my research, b'coz Natural Glow shade is more of a bronzer with gold to brown undertones, while Sunrise Glow has a more pinkish tone which i love b'coz i could use it as a blusher.

The colours are really pigmented, just a light brush on the palette is enough to swipe both the cheeks. I made the mistake of playing my brush to long on the palette the first time, and when i applied it on my cheeks, it was just too much *don't want to be looking like a clown, would i*. My cheeks look so pink that i had to grab a tissue and wipe it off and applied some powder to tone down the pinkiness.

As for the packaging i really like it as it has a clear plastic cover over, where you could see the shades. And i love how they design it like a mosaic, it's not something that you see always. For a drugstore product, i would definitely give my thumbs up.

Next is MUA Eyebrow Brush with Comb. I actually bought this b'coz there wasn't a mascara wand available, so i thought why not just get this and give it a try. I haven't used it much b'coz i realise that the brush side, the bristles are actually quite hard. It's like when ever i wanna tame my eyebrows in place, it feels like i'm scratching it instead of brushing it.

Well that's all for now, i'll have more reviews coming up on other beauty products. So stay tune and do follow my blog if possible. Till than Assalamualaikum ^_^

The Lilac Box 7

Assalamualaikum/ Hi ladies,

If you have followed my blog, you would know by now that i'm into beauty box/bag subscriptions and there's no denying about that. This SAHM craves for surprises, if possible every month, but budget comes to mind, so every cent needs to be considered and spent wisely.

So i heard from The Lilac Box (TLB) that they'll be coming up with their 7th beauty box, and as always i would jump into the subscription, but this time i wasn't so 'gabra' to wait for the moment to place order. I was kinda caught up with things at home and the children and all, so i only managed to place order the next day, which by the way was still available for purchase.

So after a week or so, i received the parcel. Can you believe that i just finish taking my bath and that's when the courier man arrives... adui, so unpredictable. Had to ask my little girl to tell the uncle to wait, hurried and dressed up and than signed off to receive the parcel... phew. And you know what i didn't even open the box immediately *like i normally would*, i guess after a while the excitement just dies off by it's own. Only manage to opened the box about later in the evening.

By the way this is the box, first impression not so good. Wanna know why b'coz they normally have lilac/purple ribbons or the most recent ones they have the classy silver Jimmy Choo ribbons on it (you can view it at this link TLB4). This yellow ribbon definitely did not convince me with what's inside the box. Remember first impression is always important.

First thing when i opened the box, a welcome card from TLB team.

And this is the content:-

  • L'oreal Professionel Paris Absolut Repair Cellular Shampoo (100ml)
  • L'oreal Professionel Paris Absolut Repair Cellular Conditioner (75ml)
  • Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Couture (sample size)
  • Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent - Brightening Hydrating Emulsion SPF 20 (15ml)
  • Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent - Intensive Brightening Serum (10ml)
  • Vagheggi Massage Oil with Yang + Anti Cellulite (10ml)
  • BeYu Lip Cream (9ml)

Both this products are a complete haircare system with exclusive home care regimens and in-salon treatments, features innovative molecular precision technology. The advanced technology behind this range allows formulas to target specific parts of hair to help deliver long-lasting results. With a range for every hair type, Série Expert provides the nourishing protection needed to achieve beautiful, healthy looking hair.

*Haven't tried this yet, as i already have my everyday shampoo but since it's small, i should be able to bring it around when i'm traveling. Anyway i don't find this as a surprise anymore, b'coz if i'm not wrong they have given L'oreal shampoo in their previous TBL. And as i remembered it was in the TLB4.

Next is BeYu Lip Cream (9ml), the intensive lip color is guaranteed to be an irresistible eye-catcher! The latest innovation in BeYu lip cosmetics combines the advantages of a lipstick with those of a lip gloss in a unique lip product.

Advantages:-
  • It won't bleed or feather into fine lines around your mouth
  • The high concentration of pigments combines rich colour with the coverage of a lipstick
  • Lips look flawless
  • Jojoba oil derived conditioners keep lips kissably soft
The results: Stunning shine and precisely defined lips.

~There's no code for the color that i got, but i assume all the girls would have gotten the same color. Or maybe not, anyway do i love the color? hmmm a little, i've yet to open the packaging. In Shaa Allah will swatch and do a short review on it. But am i pleased with this? yes i am b'coz i don't think there's ever a makeup item in this box.

Than there's this little beauty Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Couture in sample size. La Petite Noire Couture is the most mature and grown-up perfume in the collection. It successfully merges the gourmand and the chypre to present a fragrance that is both contemporary and glamorous in an old fashioned kind of way. If the original La Petite Robe Noire was a black doll made out of chiffon and leather, this one is a silk gown with clean lines, straight edges and a bucket load of style.

The creator of this gem is Thierry Wasser. He put into this notes such as:

  • Bergamot
  • Raspberry
  • Rose
  • Oak moss
  • Vetiver
  • Patchouli
  • Tonka bean
*I've always love receiving perfume samples, especially ones where you can just spritz. And since it's small you can just slot it in the handbag and carry it around.

Next we have  Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent - Brightening Hydrating Emulsion SPF 20 (15ml)

This buddy is the most advanced skin care, powered by the Trans-Luminescent Complex which has the capacity to revive the skin's micro-mirrors at every layer, to reflect total luminescence.
It's unique texture glides on like a smooth caress and instantly blends into the skin for ultimate translucency, absolute even, fair skin and healthy-looking rosy luminescence.
In addition, it helps to improve the effectiveness of products applied afterwards.

&

Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent - Intensive Brightening Serum (10ml)

You may not believe, but this candidate can increase your skin hydration up to 103% in just one hour!
Powered by the Trans-Luminescent Complex, these delightful milky, hydrating emulsions with a fine, melting texture promote fair and dewy skin, but also radiance and well-being.
This brightening emulsion moisturizes, softens and leaves the skin velvety- smooth.

* I've not tried either of this two, but Clarins have good reputation with their skincare and i can't wait to try them on when possible. So fingers cross that in the near future i'll be doing a review on this lovely babies.

Lastly it's Vagheggi Massage Oil with Yang + Anti Cellulite (10ml)

So let's see what's the intro for this product:-

The oil is particularly suitable for unsightly skin caused by cellulite and fatty cushions. The warm sensation given to your skin is the action of the product on the skin.
Use this product daily on fatty areas, avoiding sensitive ones due to redness. Do not apply on the face.

Summary is i'm not too pleased with TLB7, everything seems predictable and it's less exciting than the other boxes previously. This make me wonder whether i should still subscribe the next TLB, but i guess it's up to our 'rezeki'. It could also be due to my sudden cray cray for cosmetics instead of skincare, but we never know. In Shaa Allah i hope they'll have better things to offer the next time around.

Guess that's all for now, till than Assalamualaikum... ^_^

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Assalamualaikum and Hi dearies, this is actually and over due post and I'm so sorry for not updating this sooner as i'm so overwhelmed with my little bundle of joy *well his not that little anymore.. hehehe* that i wasn't able to . So let's start shall we? Anyway thanks to Youtube, i kinda caught myself watching all this beauty Guru's raving about cosmetics, brush and so on. So since i can't afford getting high end or the pricey cosmetics, i op for something that is affordable that also gives the same results as the originals.

Well to say the least, while browsing for all this drugstore items, which are only available overseas, i manage to find two online stores that made it possible for us gals in Malaysia to purchase this brands. One of it was recommended by Nadia and the online shop is called Mesmerize and the other is called Color Cosmetics (which i found through Google).

So as you can see the pix below, i actually purchase this from Mesmerize (they also have a FB Page which i will link down below). It was a pre-order, which normally takes about 15-30 days, depending how fast they process and send it over.

This is my 1st purchased with Mesmerize by the way, and they did an awesome job in making sure that everything was pack and wrap safely. I ordered the following items from them:-

1. Elf Brush Shampoo
2. Real Techniques - Travel Essentials
3. MUA Undress Me Too Palette

Some of the close up shots of the MUA Undress Me Too Palette.I'm so happy that it arrived safely, and i bought it b'coz it was a dub for the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallete *if i'm not wrong*

Next are the items below, which i purchased from Colour Cosmetics. I actually got the Nyx Adorable Pallette, as well as the Nyx Eyeshadow Base in ESB03 (which is more of a skin colour).

The Nyx Adorable palette is actually quite hard to get in most of the Sephora outlets here, so i just decided to get it from Colour Cosmetics. Price wise it's almost the same or 50 cent more, which i think it's okay. They even gave me 2 free items which is a Collagen Crystal Eye Mask, as well as a small pot of hand cream.

Look at the colors aren't they lovely? Their basically my go to eyeshadow palette right now, b'coz the colors are really pigmented. And i love neutral shades eyeshadow.

That's all for now, i hope i could snap some pictures of me using this eyeshadow, but sadly the only camera i have is from my Samsung S3, and it doesn't do justice. Need to start saving and get a proper camera, please do leave a comment if you ladies have any suggestions on which camera i should invest on?

Till than Assalamualaikum.... ^_^
